Astronomy on Tap DC: April 3, 2019

Astronomy on Tap DC returns to DC9 club on Wednesday April 3, 2019 for a night of great talks, astronomy-themed games, and telescope viewing on the rooftop bar! Our talk line-up for the night:

Enough Satellites to Darken the Skies: the Coming Wave of Megaconstellations – Caleb Henry (Space News)

Observing the Edge of the Universe from the End of the Earth Kyle Helson (NASA Goddard Space Flight Center)

Science Fiction Meets Science Fact: NASA’s Search for New Worlds – Elisa Quintana (NASA Goddard Space Flight Center)

Following the talks, join us on the rooftop bar for skygazing through telescopes (weather permitting), courtesy of Becca Ljungren and her team of astronomy educators from the Phoebe Waterman Haas Public Observatory at the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum.

We’ll have Astronomy bingo, where you can win a fun prize, and astronomy trivia, where you can win an exclusive AoTDC pint glass! Additional AoTDC pint glasses and T-shirts are available for a donation.
