Welcome to the greatest science talks in all of Baton Rouge! Come check out our fantastic speakers from the comfort of your home!

Abby Waggoner

From Hydrogen to Humans: The Origins of Us

Have you ever wondered how humans came to exist? Nearly 14 billion years after the Big Bang, when the universe was almost exclusively made up of hydrogen, we live on a carbon rich planet full of genetic diversity. In this talk, we’ll discuss the origins of the chemical components that make up our DNA and the history that led to life on Earth.

Dr. Jen Andrews

Supernova Imposter Syndrome: Eruptions of Massive Stars

Some massive stars go through explosive events that don’t totally destroy the star as would be the case in an actual supernova explosion. I’ll discuss possible causes of these events, often dubbed “SN imposters,” and in particular how they relate to enigmatic bright southern star Eta Car.

Join us (virtually) at 7pm, February 11th

The talks will be on our YouTube page LIVE.

Come enjoy this FREE event at 7pm. Engage with real life astronomers and discuss the most exciting avenues of science all with the added excitement of beer (in your own home).
